SOAP

SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is a lightweight protocol intended for exchanging structured information in a distributed environment (such as the Web), providing applications a way to communicate directly with each other over the Internet in a very rich way. The World Wide Web Consortium has released SOAP 1.2 as a W3C recommendation, making it a W3 standard. Access Softek employs SOAP in communicating between operating systems, as well as communicating through firewalls.

PROJECT
For the tradeshow registration application developed for Microsoft and Symbol Technologies, we used SOAP to support transmission of data from Symbol’s handheld devices running Pocket PC and CE, over the web to a Microsoft SQL server for tracking.
